Caps For Kids

Churches and individuals are encouraged to participate in the Caps for Kids mission program that sends funds to Church World Service, supporting their major multi-year initiative on HIV/AIDS.  All proceeds from the sale of these quality hats will help children in Africa suffering from AIDS.  This is a mission project of the Blooming Grove United Church of Christ in Blooming Grove, New York.

Seniors and teenagers have been knitting hats, finding an added benefit through the relaxing effect of knitting and crocheting, building a stockpile of hats which is now available to our churches to be sold at fairs, bazaars, mission endeavors, high school projects, college athletic events, etc.  Knitting directions are available for those wishing to make hats.  Your imaginations are the only limitations as to how you may participate in this worthy mission outreach to African children affected by AIDS.  A Cornell University student has ordered 15 hats for the men’s hockey team in their carnelian red and white colors.   At present we have volunteers in twenty one states knitting and crocheting  hats.  We've been able to raise more than $7000 in this effort.

Where does your imagination lead you?  If you would like to participate in this project, please contact Janet Steeves at the number below.

Caps for Kids make great Christmas gifts, and every purchase helps a child in Africa suffering from the effects of HIV/AIDS.
